Application Deadline: Not current

Goal: Increase frequency and motivation to read among K-12 aged youth, strengthen their literacy skills, and develop positive attitudes toward reading, leading to improved academic achievement, stronger critical thinking and communication abilities, and greater long-term educational and life success.  Programs need to address equitable access to engaging, culturally relevant reading materials; provide regular opportunities for independent and guided reading; and are supported by educators, families, and communities through positive reading environments and skill-building instruction,

We are now accepting applications from schools, nonprofits, community organizations, and educators dedicated to providing opportunities that support innovative programs and projects that enhance learning for students who face systemic barriers to educational success.

Proposals should include clear, measurable outcomes such as improved academic performance, successful program completion, credential attainment, and job placement or advancement. Programs that collaborate with schools, employers, or community organizations to create sustainable career pipelines are especially encouraged to apply. Priority will be given to initiatives serving underserved youth populations, including students from low-income communities.
